if you tipped this city upside down it would stand on its own as a table for the Gods to eat from
another poem noted down while on my travels, back in 2019. I wrote this while on a coach, driving around some mountains and looking down on the city below, with so many tall buildings rising from the ground. It was intimidating. I have probably never appreciated enough how travelling gives you perspective, when you look through The National Geographic magazine or wherever, and realize how immense our World is. How little I know. How small we all are. It’s another one of those regrets I have about my education and not having learnt nearly enough about the world.
