It starts by realising you don’t have to be concerned with how you measure up to someone else’s ideas about your output. And even more importantly, you don’t have to be concerned with how you measure up to other people’s successes.

do you understand what i am capable of – 
do you know what i have already achieved – 
do you hear that i have a voice – 
a voice i have already put into hundreds of poems – 
poems that have been read – 
i might not have whatever you are looking for on file – 
but i can fucking write 
despite it all 
i hold onto that post in the storms – 
my words, my poems.
