Book Review. On Connection by Kae Tempest.

On Connection is an essay length book about creativity and connection, two of my favourite subjects. I was taken aback, and appreciative, of the frankness of Tempest’s writing, lines like ‘every day was just about trying to make enough money to get fucked up. That was the major goal of my life. I was in a lot of pain.’ Things I was able to relate with. On Connection also reminded me how much I love writing, poetry, creating, language – When I am so depressed, I cannot think straight, I love to write. It’s hopeful and it motives me and sharing helps me in connecting with other people in the way I have found possible, and easiest. I loved On Connection for that, for inspiring me to keep putting pen to paper.
